About the event
Web Summit Rio is the South American edition of the Web Summit conference family, held each year in Rio de Janeiro since 2023. Over four days it brings together founders, investors, corporate leaders, journalists and policymakers from Brazil, the wider region and abroad.
The program combines talks on several stages with themed tracks, a startup exhibition area, pitch competitions, investor meetings and evening meetups. Topics range across artificial intelligence, fintech, software, marketing, media and the business of technology in Latin America. Startups can apply to exhibit through a dedicated startup program, and investors have their own track with scheduled introductions. The 2027 edition is planned for Riocentro, the large exhibition center in the west of the city, and the organizer cites attendance of more than 40,000 people, around 1,500 startups and over 700 investors.
Who should attend
Suited to app founders and startup teams targeting Brazil and Latin America, investors looking at regional deal flow, and anyone wanting partners or press in the local tech scene. Attendees get investor introductions, a chance to exhibit or pitch, a broad view of where Latin American tech is heading, and large-scale networking, though there is little content specific to mobile apps.
