About the event
Latitude59 x Kenya is the Nairobi edition of Latitude59, the startup and tech event that began in Estonia in 2012. The 2026 event on 3–4 December is the fourth in Kenya. It aims to connect African founders with international investors and companies working across African and global markets.
Day one is a warm-up with partner side events and invite-only gatherings, Investor Day among them. Day two is the main conference, with a main stage, a pitching stage, masterclass rooms, a startup demo area and a matchmaking space. The 2026 programme centres on practical skills, with themes such as AI as a co-founder, getting funded and public policy. Early-stage African startups compete in the Latitude59 Pitch Competition final on the main stage, and one wins a fast-track invitation to Latitude59 2027 in Tallinn.
The 2025 edition drew more than 2,000 people from over 50 countries, and a similar turnout is expected in 2026, with investors from Africa, Europe, the Nordic countries and Asia.
For app founders this is a broad startup and investment event; the sources describe no app-specific sessions. It is most useful for founders who build for African markets or want investors active there. App buyers and acquirers are not named among attendees, so it suits first investor talks better than selling an app.
Who should attend
Best for founders who build in or for African markets, especially early-stage teams that are raising money, and for investors, hubs and companies that follow the region. App founders based elsewhere gain most if they plan to enter African markets or want contacts among Africa-focused investors.
Tips: before the event, list the investors you want to meet and check which stages and sectors they back. If you are raising or preparing to sell, bring a short deck with revenue, growth and retention figures rather than download counts.
