Techne Summit is an annual technology and entrepreneurship gathering in Egypt, run by Techne. The 2026 edition was split between two cities: a smaller Cairo event in September aimed at decision-makers, corporates, investors and policy discussions, and a large Alexandria event in October at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina that targets the wider startup community.
The programme spans themes such as capital and growth, AI and emerging technology, corporate innovation and policy, while the Alexandria tracks cover fintech, e-commerce, gaming, edtech, healthtech, logistics, climate and startup innovation. Alongside talks, the summit offers investor meetings, workshops, an exhibition and startup competitions. The organizer reports tens of thousands of attendees from about seventy countries, along with several hundred speakers and more than a hundred investors, making it one of the larger startup events in North Africa and the Middle East.
Who should attend
Founders of early-stage startups in Egypt and the wider MENA region, including those building consumer, fintech, e-commerce or gaming apps, will find the most value here. They can pitch in competitions, meet regional investors and corporates, join workshops and learn about local market and policy conditions. Investors looking for deal flow in emerging markets can also use it to meet many young companies in one place.
