About the event
TechBBQ is a two-day startup and tech event in Copenhagen. It began in 2013 as a small gathering of the local startup scene and now takes place at Bella Center Copenhagen. The organizer reports more than 10,000 attendees, over 1,720 investors and more than 310 speakers.
The format mixes stage talks with smaller grilled sessions and rooms, an exhibition area, networking areas, side events and an afterparty. Around the main event the organizer runs startup programs such as the North Star Pitch, a Startup Showcase and pitch competitions for life science and deep tech, plus investor formats including an LP Forum, a Family Office Summit and a TechBBQ Investor Day. Each year has a theme; recent speakers have included founders of AI and software companies and partners at venture firms.
The audience consists of founders, investors, operators, researchers and policymakers, with a strong Nordic focus. The program is not about mobile apps, so app-specific topics such as subscriptions, monetization or app acquisitions are not the focus.
For app founders TechBBQ is mainly useful for fundraising and broad networking: investor passes and an investor lounge are part of the ticket structure, and the event app offers AI matchmaking. It is not a dedicated marketplace for buying or selling apps.
Who should attend
TechBBQ suits app founders who are raising venture money or want to get to know the Nordic startup and investor community. Startup and growth-stage founders get discounted passes, access to the full stage program, exhibition floor, side events and the AI matchmaking in the event app.
Tip: before the event, use the app to shortlist investors who back consumer or software products and request meetings early. Bring a short deck with current revenue, retention and growth figures so a first conversation can move to a follow-up call.
