About the event
EU-Startups Summit is a two-day, in-person event held by the EU-Startups team, which publishes online coverage of startups in Europe. The 2027 edition is set for May 13-14 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, Malta. The organizer describes it as a meeting place for tech-based and tech-enabled startups with global ambitions. It expects about 2,500 participants, including founders, startup enthusiasts, corporates, angel investors, venture capitalists and media from across Europe.
The programme combines fireside chats with internationally successful founders, keynote talks and a pitch competition on the main stage, with startup teams selected from more than 1,600 applicants. Beyond the stage, the organizer lists a dedicated networking app, a networking area, evening drinks and topic-focused networking sessions, and it states that the event provides matchmaking and dealmaking opportunities.
For app founders, this is mainly a general startup and investor event rather than a mobile-specific one. The published programme does not describe sessions on mobile apps, subscriptions or app acquisitions. Its value for deal-making lies in direct contact with European angel investors and venture capital firms that back software companies, and in exposure to the press attending.
Who should attend
Founders of software and app companies with European ambitions who are preparing a seed or Series A round, along with angel investors and venture capital firms looking for early-stage deal flow. Corporate innovation teams and startup media also attend. Before the event, prepare a short deck and a summary of key metrics. On site, look for angels and funds that already invest in consumer or subscription products. If you plan to sell an app, gather clear revenue, retention and churn data first, since buyers will ask for it.
