About the event

droidcon NYC is the New York edition of the droidcon family of Android developer conferences. The most recent edition listed on the official droidcon site took place at Brooklyn Storehouse on 25 June 2025. It is an in-person, talk-based event for people who build Android apps.

The program of droidcon events centres on Android engineering: app architecture, tooling, Kotlin and cross-platform approaches, and the growing use of AI-assisted development. An attendee write-up of the 2025 New York edition describes a schedule of technical talks and mentions hundreds of Android developers in the audience, with AI coding tools among the recurring themes.

The audience is mainly Android engineers, tech leads and mobile development teams. The official pages we reviewed do not mention app buyers, acquirers or investors, and they do not describe investor meetings, matchmaking or pitch sessions. So this is a learning and community event, not a place to make deals.

As of October 2026 the droidcon site does not announce a next New York edition. The droidCon USA event on a separate site is held in Orlando in July 2026, which is a different series. Founders should check the droidcon site for any New York announcement before planning travel.

For app founders, the value is in technical knowledge, hiring contacts and exposure to current Android practices rather than in transactions.

Who should attend

Android engineers, tech leads and mobile team managers who want to follow current Android practice, tooling and AI-assisted development. Founders get a view of the technical state of the platform and a chance to meet developers for hiring or partnerships.

If you are preparing to sell an app or raise money, do not expect buyers or investors here. Use the event to talk with engineers about code quality and technical debt, and prepare a short technical overview of your app, since buyers examine this during due diligence.
