About the event
droidCon Berlin is a conference for Android developers that now runs as one of several co-located events inside next.app devCon, a three-day gathering in Berlin organized by Mobile Seasons GmbH. The organizer traces droidCon and its sister events back to 2009 and stresses that they are still built by the developer community. The next edition is scheduled for 29 September to 1 October 2027 at CityCube Berlin, next to flutterCon, swiftCon, reactCon, an XR and mobile games conference, agentic codingCon, the masCon mobile security event and a tech lead summit.
The droidCon program is technical. It covers Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and Android engineering in general, with talks, hands-on workshops and a separate Android Automotive special event. Around the sessions the organizer lists interactive roundtables, hackathon challenges and a leadership summit for staff and principal engineers, senior developers and engineering managers.
The audience named on the site is Android developers, engineering managers, team leads, senior engineers and platform and security teams. App buyers, acquirers and investors are not mentioned as attendee groups. For app founders this is mainly a learning and community event about building and maintaining Android apps well, not a venue set up for selling an app or raising money.
Who should attend
Best suited to Android engineers, tech leads and founders whose apps depend heavily on Android and who want current technical practice and contact with experienced mobile engineers. Founders preparing an exit can use it to get informed views on code quality, architecture and app security, areas that buyers often examine in due diligence. Tip: before the event, list the parts of your Android codebase a buyer would question and ask senior engineers or security specialists for candid feedback. Do not count on meeting investors here; plan deal conversations elsewhere.
