About the event
4YFN is the startup event that runs alongside MWC Barcelona, the large mobile-industry exhibition run by the GSMA. It has its own stage, exhibition and ecosystem, but takes place in the same venue and week as MWC, so attendees can also reach the wider mobile and technology crowd. The next edition is planned for 1-4 March 2027 at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona.
The program combines conference content, startup pitches, an exhibition and the 4YFN Awards. Content is organised into tracks, including agentic AI, climate tech, fintech, connected health, corporate innovation, founders and investors. The organizer's figures for the 2026 edition list more than 1,000 startups and exhibitors, more than 300 speakers, more than 260 startup pitches and over 700 curated meetings, of which over 60 percent were between startups and investors.
The site describes the audience as startups and scale-ups, investors, corporates and public entities. It is aimed at general tech startups, not specifically at app businesses, and there is no stated focus on app acquisitions. It is still useful for deal-making of the fundraising kind: the organizer says its team builds meeting schedules for attendees in advance and that investors meet pre-screened startups. App founders looking for venture funding or corporate partners may find it relevant; those looking to sell an app to a buyer will find fewer targeted contacts.
Who should attend
Suited to app founders and teams who want to raise venture funding, find corporate partners or get visibility at a large mobile-industry week. Investors and corporate scouts also attend, according to the organizer. It is less targeted for people who only want to sell an app to a buyer.
Tips: before registering, prepare a short deck with revenue, retention and growth figures, and use the pre-event meeting scheduling to request investors who have backed consumer or mobile products. Plan follow-ups for the days right after the event.
